The Eye of Horus is the left moon eye of Horus, the god of light, healed and restored by Thoth, the god of magic and healing, after his adversary Seth, the god of darkness, smashed it in battle. But instead of using it himself, Horus sacrificed it to his father Osiris as a third eye. In doing so, he awakened a new consciousness in Osiris, the god of the dead, and shed light on the darkness of the underworld. That is why this eye became a symbol of healing and completion, but is also a symbol of light, offerings, protection and perfection.
